Ear It

A collaborative project to increase the awareness about hearing damage and emphasizing the importance of wearing the right protective gear in nightlife.

About ear it

With three distinct activities, EAR IT makes an effort to create more awareness, break stigmas and evoke action around hearing damage and the wear of earplugs in nightlife amongst the community of Utrecht. The idea for this project came from a dissatisfaction about the current messages revolving around this matter.

We believe that it can be of great value to send out a message about a subject like this from within the community rather than through government agencies or organizations that have a financial gain in mind.

That's why it's important to carry out this project with as many people from the Utrecht (night) culture community: you!

We'll be carrying out the following three activities in the next four months: a short film, social campaign & club night. We could really use your help in spreading the message behind these activities.

How to (w)ear it

Part of the campaign is an infographic where we compiled relevant information surrounding hearing damage & earplugs. All the information provided has been checked by a hearing care professional. By spreading the infographic, we hope to improve the knowledge around different earplugs and how hearing damage can occur.

Ear It infographic: how to (h)ear it — dB levels, time until hearing damage, earplug types, and how to insert earplugs correctly.
